Welcome to The Fête of Britain
23 July 2026
This is the Fête of Britain — the campaign for In-Real-Life Democracy. The place where we re-learn and rehearse the skills it’s going to take to govern a new world, face-to-face and from the bottom up.
Because the mission is clear: To build real power in the places where we live, getting offline and IN(to) REAL LIFE must be at the heart of everything we do from here on out.
Are you ready to do your bit to make Britain brilliant? Well, let’s get stuck in!
Here’s what you can get involved in right now:
- Host a Fête in the place where you live. Download our Fête Blueprint to show you how.
- Contribute to the Fête when it visits a town near you or contribute something you have already.
- Shifting your focus to make your work and lives part of this something bigger, a collective where everyone is doing their part in building the new democratic future we need, and help people feel and experience it so we can build it together.
- Get to know your neighbours and look after your neighbourhood! This is the first and most important part. It’s easy and takes as much as saying hello to your neighbours when you pass them in the street, shop independent, buy seasonally, sign petitions, buy less. See, easy!
- Get involved…. In Real Life! Sign up to volunteer at your local food bank. Have a difficult conversation with someone you disagree with, and try to look for the similarity across your differences. And of course, come and join in at one of our Fetes near you!
- Make a commitment to change things and get involved in grassroots democracy projects or a local political project. Go knock on doors, make art, writing, anything about ‘building the new’….
