Zine Station Guide

How to include the zine table within you event 

The Fête of Britain Zine Station is an opportunity to visually document the way we feel about the places we live, as well as our hopes, angers and dreams for its future, our love and our annoyances. The zine station is a kind of creative assembly, a make-and-chat space where everyone is welcome. Ideally, it will be run by a local artist already into collage and zine making.

What to get

• Glue sticks 
• Scissors 
• Paper / card to collage onto
• Things to collage with, old magazines, papers, 
• Fête of Britain zine prompts
• Scanner (optional)

How to run the zine station 

Set up before the event 

• Find a local zine, collage or mix media artist to run the station print out 

How to run the station 

• Set up some tables with chairs (as many as you have space for and is appropriate for the venue 
• Hang the zine ‘prompts’ (e.g. “What do you love about here?”) from the walls by the tables 
• Lay out the collage material and equipment 
• Invite people to contribute their thoughts to the pages, answering one question per page
• If you don’t have a scanner available at the event, have people leave the pages to be submitted to the Fête of Britain. If you have a scanner, scan the pages and people can keep their work 
• Let people know their work will be shared both digitally (and maybe even hung around the venue)
